How Vivace Ultra® Works
As an industry-first ultrasound visualization with unmatched precision, Vivace Ultra is the most awarded radiofrequency microneedling treatment available. Vivace Ultra® is more than your standard RF microneedling treatment. This procedure combines microneedling and uniform radiofrequency energy, but it’s also guided by ultrasound. By adding photo mapping and ultrasound visualization into the mix, clients can enjoy personalized treatments for superior skin rejuvenation.
The microneedling part of the treatment uses gold-tipped, ultra-fine needles that create controlled micro-injuries. These needles trigger the skin’s natural healing response, which begins to create more elastin and collagen in the treated area.
Simultaneously, radiofrequency (RF) energy is delivered through the needles into the deeper layers of the skin. RF can be used on the skin even without microneedling, but the microchannels make it possible to reach the dermis. This further stimulates collagen production, leading to a smoother effect, along with a reduction of wrinkles.
The ultrasound imaging system allows Artistry providers to map out different layers of the skin. Thanks to this, clients can enjoy precise treatments, with results based on their specific needs.
Vivace Ultra® Recovery
Vivace Ultra® is the preferred choice for many because of its minimal downtime potential. Most patients can return to their daily routine right away. That said, those whose job involves heavy labor, direct sun exposure, or intensive sweating might want to take the day off.
In the first 24 hours after the procedure, you may notice redness and swelling, along with a general feeling of firmness. After the second day, some might also experience itchiness as the dead skin cells start to shed. These symptoms are well-tolerated and rarely last more than a couple of days. For most patients, they fade in about a week.
You should avoid vigorous exercise and skincare other than soothing cream in the next few days. At Artistry Skin & Hormone, we recommend you choose medical-grade skincare, due to its higher concentration of active agents. You can resume your skincare routine and perform light exercises starting on the 3rd day.
For a smooth recovery, make sure to stay hydrated and avoid direct sun exposure for at least one week. Starting with the second day, make sure to use sunblock.
Vivace Ultra® Results
Vivace Ultra® results are gradual and rely on the body’s natural ability to produce collagen and elastin. Skin tone improvements may show after about a week or two, with the surface becoming more radiant and healthy-looking.
However, the wrinkle reduction benefits only become visible after a month has passed. The collagen needs time to form and mature, which means it can take one to three months to observe the final results.
While you will see a difference with each treatment, treatments are best done in packages of 3 or more, with 4 to 6 weeks between treatments.
Results can last for up to a year, but it also depends on your skincare regimen. Make sure to wear sunblock and take proper care of your skin. Schedule maintenance Vivace Ultra® treatments once a year to keep collagen production going.

Will I retain my facial dexterity after receiving Dermal Fillers?
Thicker fillers may have an effect on the dynamic movement of your face. Sometimes we are creating symmetry where none exists. But, in most cases you should be able to fully move the areas treated by filler.
How should I prepare for my Cosmetic Injectable Treatment?
Avoid blood thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, garlic, ginger, gingko biloba and vitamin E up to 2 weeks prior to treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
How long does the typical Dermal Fillers procedure take?
That depends on how long the consultation takes. Once we have a plan in place, each injectable vial typically takes about 20 minutes to put in.
Are there any side effects associated with the Dermal Filler procedure?
The most common side effects include bruising, tenderness and swelling. Other side effects can include headaches, redness, itching, cold sores, lumpiness. Potential and rare side effects include necrosis. This happens when the filler blocks a vessel causing the skin above to not receive oxygen, leading to open wounds and vessel damage. The majority of fillers used are dissolvable and therefore less risky since we can reverse their effect. Side effects should be fully discussed with your provider before the procedure.
How long do dermal fillers last?
The average filler lasts 6 months to 1 year. As the substance of the filler is broken down by the body’s enzymes, everyone is a little different with how long this process takes. Some injectable fillers are designed to be longer lasting. Sculptra for instance can last up to 3 years and Juvederm Voluma up to 2 years. The amount injected and the placement of the filler are also variables. Occasionally you find people that break down their filler in 1-2 months or where filler lasts 3-4 years.
